Affiliation and Structure
Outreach Zanzibar Foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that received its charter by Letters Patent from Industry Canada on August 30, 2010. Outreach Zanzibar holds a fund at Tides Canada Foundation. As a registered public foundation, Tides Canada can receive and provide charitable tax receipts for gifts to the Tides Canada –Outreach Zanzibar Fund from individuals and institutions and make grants to qualified charities that support our mission. We are also perusing joint initiatives with various organizations such as the Rotary Clubs in Canada, UK and Zanzibar and with other NGOs like The Makunduchi Project and the Zanzibar Action Project. Through their support and collaboration, we are able to begin implementing our project plans and to secure funding. The need is now, and we are ready to serve.
Outreach Zanzibar is not affiliated with any creed, religion, race, political party or political issue.
The founders of Outreach Zanzibar Foundation, together with three other colleagues in Zanzibar have also established a local non-government organization (“NGO”) in Zanzibar. This NGO, called Zanzibar HELP Foundation was registered under the laws of Zanzibar on July 23, 2010 and is intended to work closely with Outreach Zanzibar Foundation in carrying out our objectives in Zanzibar. Through direct supervision and related monitoring visits we shall maintain the transparency, accountability and control of funds as is required under the laws of Canada.
